Well Ozchuck & I saw "Zohan" at Kingaroy Movie Theatre this past weekend...
A few notes about the cinema first - it only has 3 viewing rooms, they didn't show the entire credits. There was maybe 30 seats in each room... We had joked previously that it would be a black 'n' white TV screen and a few deck chairs... maybe they'd play titanic...
However it wasn't overly bad. Ozchuck wasn't the guy with the loudest laugh for once. The screen was ok... prices were reasonable ($9.00 for a student) again a little annoyed I didn't get to sit through all the credits... would have liked to have milked it out but they turned them off almost immediately.
Anyway Zohan was ok. I wasn't sure what to expect but it wasn't overly bad. Bit like Borat - pointing fun at cultural differences & America's tolerance (or lack thereof) towards foreign people. I have to admit - it was nice not to see 2 naked guys wrestling, or other random 'real but set-up' skits.
Also they haven't put Speed Racer on yet (though I've heard that bombed out). It's only SATC, Prince Caspian or Zohan. I believe they'll put out Kung FU Panda maybe tomorrow.. but Speed Racer won't be here until July 3 or something. It's silly. It's like living in another country, like Norway - though they get movies only a few days after the rest of the world. Here they don't receive half the movies. It's a little annoying. Also they only play a movie twice a day if you're lucky.
Overall the experience wasn't bad. Maybe 3 stars out of 5... I don't think I'd repeat it if I had a choice. :S
